Leo Lopez

Senior Vice President - Vertical Design & Construction

Leo Lopez leads Banbury's vertical design and construction efforts, bringing more than 35 years of experience delivering complex commercial developments from concept through completion. His expertise is centered on managing the design and construction of large-scale, build-to-suit office and institutional projects that serve as long-term anchors for thriving mixed-use communities.

Prior to joining Banbury, Leo spent 25 years as Senior Vice President at Catellus Development Corporation, where he directed vertical design and construction for transformative developments across Texas, California, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, and Kentucky. Throughout his career, he has overseen the delivery of landmark office buildings, including the Austin Energy Headquarters, Texas Mutual Insurance Headquarters, and Ascension Seton Administrative Building at Mueller, as well as office developments for organizations such as the Alpha Building, whose major tenant is the Teachers Retirement System of Texas. These projects required close coordination among owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and public or private partners to deliver high-quality buildings that met demanding design, budget, and schedule objectives.

Before joining Catellus, Leo spent more than a decade managing the design and construction of commercial projects for national companies, including CompUSA and Security Capital, as well as several architectural and construction firms. His broad background gives him a unique perspective on every phase of the development process, from early design through project delivery.

Leo earned a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Michigan, with concentrations in Real Estate and Corporate Finance.
