Banbury Projects Named ULI Austin Award Finalists
Three Banbury projects have earned recognition from the 2026 ULI Austin Impact Awards. Colony Park and The Southwestern University 560 are finalists for the Next Big Idea category. Roger Lavon Taylor Sr. Plaza in Mueller is a finalist for Best Project Design.
In addition to these finalists, other projects within Banbury developments were nominated for awards. Rivette Tower in Mueller was a nominee for Best Project Design, and Central Health Colony Park Health & Wellness Center was a nominee for the Next Big Idea.
The annual awards celebrate projects that are shaping Central Texas through thoughtful planning, design, innovation, and community impact.
Colony Park
Finalist, Next Big Idea
One of Austin's most significant public-private partnerships, Colony Park is a transformative, mixed-use community in East Austin advancing equitable, sustainable growth through thoughtful planning, resilient infrastructure, and community-centered design. The project will deliver housing, parks, mobility improvements, and neighborhood-serving amenities while creating long-term economic opportunity for the surrounding community.
Southwestern University 560
Finalist, Next Big Idea
At a time when higher education faces unprecedented financial challenges, the Southwestern University 560 offers a new model. This 560-acre, mixed-use district transforms university-owned land into a catalyst for student success, economic development, environmental stewardship, and long-term institutional sustainability—creating a blueprint that can be replicated nationwide while strengthening Southwestern University's connection to Georgetown and the surrounding region.
Roger Lavon Taylor Sr. Plaza
Finalist, Best Project Design | Nominee, Best Project Innovation
Located in Mueller, at the base of the historic Mueller Control Tower, Roger Lavon Taylor Sr. Plaza honors the legacy of a beloved community leader whose advocacy helped preserve that landmark. The dynamic park invites people of all ages to gather, play, and reflect through native planting, topographic landforms, and artful storytelling rooted in East Austin's history—creating a new civic landmark for residents and visitors alike.
Rivette Tower
Nominee, Best Project Design
Located in Mueller, Rivette Tower is a 345-unit multifamily community with diverse exterior architectural elements and ground-floor retail. Residents enjoy amenities including a resort-style pool, private courtyards, co-working spaces, a central paseo, pet amenities, bike storage, and a rooftop deck overlooking downtown Austin.
Central Health Colony Park Health & Wellness Center
Nominee, Next Big Idea
Located in Colony Park, the long-awaited investment in Northeast Austin, Central Health Colony Park Health & Wellness Center, brings essential healthcare to an historically underserved community. The center will offer primary care, lab services, pharmacy access, and wellness programs—delivering on years of community advocacy for accessible healthcare.
